ST. GEORGE — Police say a motorcyclist was transported to the hospital after a driver failed to yield at a yellow light at the intersection of Gateway Drive and Red Hills Parkway Tuesday at noon.

Lt. Aaron Bergquist of the St. George Police Department told St. George News that a white Hyundai Sonata was turning left on a yellow light at the same time a motorcycle was entering the intersection.

“So essentially, the vehicle failed to yield to the motorcycle, on a yellow light and then the motorcycle hit into the side of the vehicle,” Bergquist said.

The motorcycle driver, an 18-year-old female, was transported to St. George Regional Hospital. Bergquist said she was wearing a helmet and her injuries appeared not serious. He said the vehicle driver, a 22-year-old female, was cited for failure to yield.

This report is based on statements from court records, police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
