According to charging documents filed in 5th District Court, dispatchers in Iron County notified officers of a stolen vehicle that was being tracked by its owner.

“I got on I-15 at milepost 62 northbound and immediately located the vehicle,” the Enoch Police officer who initiated the pursuit wrote in the affidavit. “I ran the plate to confirm it was stolen and it was. I notified dispatch and followed the vehicle until I had other units available.”

Officers reportedly attempted to get the driver of the suspect vehicle to pull over just north of Parowan, but the driver didn’t yield, instead leading the officers on a high-speed chase.

“The suspect vehicle reached speeds of approximately 120 miles per hour at times during the pursuit,” the arresting officer wrote. “The suspect vehicle was also passing vehicles on the right shoulder and cutting vehicles off in an attempt to evade.”

When the suspect vehicle reached the town of Beaver, its driver exited I-15, as two of its tires were disabled at that point, the affidavit states, noting that the vehicle ended up losing control on a dirt road and crashing into a fence.

Both occupants then fled the scene on foot with a backpack but were taken into custody by officers at approximately 4:44 p.m, less than an hour after the pursuit began. Both men were described as being non-compliant during their arrest.

Wyatt Anthony Meadows and Dominick David Adamson were each booked into Iron County Jail shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Both men are being held without bail on suspicion of multiple charges, the most serious of which are possession of a stolen vehicle, a second-degree felony, and seven counts of unlawful possession of a financial card, a third-degree felony.

Additionally, Meadows faces misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, failure to stop at command of police, not having a valid driver license, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Adamson also faces misdemeanor counts of failure to disclose identity, obstruction of justice, failure to stop at command of police, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As previously reported, Adamson’s extensive criminal history includes multiple felony and misdemeanor cases in jurisdictions throughout the state, including Draper and St. George, several of which are still pending.

Meanwhile, according to the current charging documents, Meadows also has prior felony convictions and reportedly has multiple active no-bail warrants out of 4th District Court, including one for aggravated robbery.

This report is based on statements from court documents and law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
