ST. GEORGE — A teenage cyclist could be facing citation after hitting a truck in downtown St. George Thursday afternoon.

The truck was traveling west pulling a trailer, and the 14-year-old was traveling south on his bike. The boy told police he entered the intersection at 600 East and 100 South without looking, St. George Police Officer Tiffany Mitchell told St. George News.

He struck the trailer’s rear tire, which ran over his arm, Mitchell said, noting that he was transported to the hospital.

Because the cyclist is a juvenile, the police referred him to the juvenile system for possible citation related to the collision.

This report is based on preliminary statements from law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings.
