Locally, the Utah Department of Transportation started construction on Interstate 15 between Green Spring Drive, Exit 10, and Washington Parkway, Exit 13, in Washington, Utah.
In a recent media advisory, UDOT alerted residents that night work would have begun as early as Tuesday around Main Street in Washington City as construction progresses.
“Night work is anticipated to last up to two weeks while crews install sheet piling,” according to the release.
Increased noise, dust, vibrations from machinery and occasional traffic shifts, detours and lane closures are expected in the area of the I-15 interchange construction at milepost 11 and Washington City’s Main Street.
Night work will occur between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. with Friday, May 26, slated as the last day for construction performed after dark.
Main Street in Washington City is currently closed for up to 14 months as bridge work and lane widening continue for the other bonus of the project. When completed, travelers will have three lanes to drive through the area in both north and south directions, instead of the current two.

Continued day work in the area will continue throughout the year and into 2024, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Drivers should expect traffic delays or consider alternate routes.
UDOT has several options for residents to report noise complaints or issues related to the Exit 11/Main Street interchange project. Those with concerns can choose one of the following:
- Hotline — (385) 403-4300
- Email — [email protected]
- Website — udotinput.utah.gov/i15washington
“This project will improve safety and mobility throughout Washington County by providing additional connections from I-15 to the rapidly growing northeast areas of Washington (City) and the downtown area,” according to the UDOT website.
The project is slated to be completed by the summer of 2024, according to UDOT.
