ST. GEORGE — World Series dreams just became a reality for the U12 Snow Canyon Little League all-star baseball team.
In the Mountain Region final Friday afternoon in San Bernardino, California, Utah defeated Nevada 7-3 and became the first Little League boys team in Utah state history to advance to the World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Kolby Lamoreaux drove in two runs in the first inning and three more in the third inning to plate all the tallies Snow Canyon needed to win. Two more insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth secured the historic victory.
Pitcher Reggie Ence threw five innings on the hill for Snow Canyon, piling up three strikeouts and throwing 17 first pitch strikes against the Paseo Verde Little League team.
Brex Whitney came in to pitch the top of the sixth for Snow Canyon, getting out of a bases-loaded jam to earn the save. Click here to view the final out.
