Around 2 p.m., a Chevrolet Tracker was traveling east on 100 South when it was hit by a Chevrolet Volt headed south on 200 West.

Hurricane Police Public Information Officer Dan Raddatz told St. George News the Volt failed to yield at a stop sign and crashed into the Tracker’s driver’s side.

The impact at the Tracker’s rear end reportedly caused it to spin and roll.

The Tracker’s driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. George Regional Hospital, Raddatz said. The other driver sustained no injuries and was cited for failure to yield.

“Make complete stops at all stop signs and look for traffic before proceeding,” Raddatz added.

The Hurricane City Police Department and Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue also responded to the call.

The scene was cleared shortly before 2:30 p.m.

This report is based on statements from police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
