Commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day with a cinematic visit to Normandy

The award-winning documentary “The Girl Who Wore Freedom” is coming to Megaplex Theatre-Sunset June 5 and 6 at 3:45  6:20 p.m.

Documentary First Productions, the company behind the film, has partnered with Megaplex Theatres to bring the film to St. George to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the veterans who served in World War II and all veterans who followed in their footsteps.

In the film, viewers will discover the untold stories of D-Day from the men, women and children who lived through German occupation and Allied liberation of Normandy, France. Powerful and deeply personal, “The Girl Who Wore Freedom” tells the stories of an America who lived its values, instilling a pride in country that is in danger of becoming a relic of the past. It highlights the undying love and respect that the French continue to have for the American veterans who risked so much to save them.

The St. George area has over 4,500 veterans including over 180 World War II veterans, many of whom served in the Normandy campaign.

This is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day and to honor veterans of the St. George community, especially these few remaining D-Day veterans, the majority of whom might no longer be with us by the 85th anniversary.
