Utah Fire Info first reported the Iron Peak Fire fire near the Cottonwood Mountain area, one mile north of Little Creek Road, was increasing in size due to windy conditions. Originally it was estimated at 75 acres and threatening as many as five structures.

at 6 p.m., Utah Fire Info updated the status of the fire to an estimated 400 acres, and by 7 p.m., it had increased to 800 acres.

“Air resources are on scene,” the fire agency posted to social media. “The cause of the fire is under investigation.”

Firefighters from several agencies are fighting the fire, where there is minimal vehicle access. For now, officials said aviation resources have been essential and that more crews have been ordered.
