Tyler Forrest Davis, 30, was sentenced on Tuesday to two terms of zero to five years in Utah State Prison by 5th District Judge Jeffrey C. Wilcox, who ordered that the sentences run consecutively.
As previously reported, Davis was arrested Sept. 14, 2023 by Iron County Metro SWAT officers following an hourslong manhunt. Just before midnight the night before, Davis had allegedly stabbed two other men with a knife during an altercation on Brook Street, then fled the scene.
Several hours later, Davis and his girlfriend Bandy Rose Miller were tracked down by police and arrested at a residence in a mobile home park a few blocks away from the initial incident.
Although the two charges of aggravated assault causing serious injury were originally listed as second-degree felonies, they were later downgraded to third-degree felonies, to which Davis pleaded guilty on May 28. That same day, as part of a plea agreement, the original charges against Davis were amended to eliminate three other counts (obstruction of justice, tampering with evidence, and possession of a dangerous weapon).
No fines or fees were imposed. A restitution hearing was scheduled for Oct. 8.
Meanwhile, codefendant Miller, 31, pleaded guilty on Sept. 26 to obstruction of justice, a third-degree felony. In November, she was sentenced to 150 days in Iron County Jail, followed by 36 months of probation. As part of the terms of her probation, the court ordered Miller to have no contact or communication with Davis.
