After more than a decade of serving Southern Utah customers, Rowdy’s Range is now under new ownership. Shawn Wood and Paul Gelderloos, both of whom previously served as the range’s manager, took over the business with the aim of creating an enhanced experience for local firearms enthusiasts while offering the most competitive prices on firearms and accessories in town.
“We’re still providing the same professional service we’ve always given to the St. George area, but with more,” Wood said. “We don’t want to be just a range and gun store; we want to be a destination.”
Rowdy’s Range welcomes the community to their grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, April 6. The range, which is located at 610 Industrial Road in St. George, will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. with food trucks and vendors on hand. Attendees will have a chance to meet the new owners and enjoy the upgraded amenities, which include the addition of a shooter’s lounge.
“We’ve been in full remodel mode,” Gelderloos said. “We’ve given the entire building a facelift. It now has a fresh, modern industrialized look.”
There’s also plenty of giveaways planned, and two lucky customers will go home with a new firearm – either a Glock 19 MOS Gen 5 handgun or a Henry U.S. Survival .22-caliber rifle. The winner of the bowling pin shooting competition will receive a custom Browning Buck Mark .22-caliber pistol.
Rowdy’s Range is a six-lane, 25-yard range with the distinction of being the only indoor shooting venue within 100 miles. Customers will find an extensive selection of guns of all makes and models, as well as ammunition, accessories, optics and parts.

Stop in and visit with the experienced staff to discover a world of information, knowledge and also the ability to explore your options by renting guns. At Rowdy’s Range, customers are able to rent from a vast array of firearms, many of which can be purchased brand-new from their sales department.
Rowdy’s Range is also a USCCA Official Partner that puts safety first. Every new gun purchase includes a free firearms safety class.
The range offers a variety of training classes, with something for every enthusiast. Whether you’re just learning the basics of handgun safety or want a one-on-one experience to help hone your shooting skills, their experts are ready to help.
Rowdy’s Range is open to the public Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the range is reserved from 8-10 a.m. exclusively for members. Women always shoot free on Wednesdays.

Wood, a St. George native, retired from law enforcement in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and also served in the “Triple Deuce” field artillery battalion of the Utah Army National Guard.
