“Everything has to go and is going fast,” owner Josh Leishman said. “The sooner you come in, the better the selection.”

Downtown Furniture, located on St. George Boulevard in the historic district, has always offered the area’s best prices on quality name-brand furniture, but with the recent sale of the building, it’s time to liquidate all remaining furniture and mattresses.

The entire showroom is being cleared out, with all pieces sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Financing is available.

“Bring your trucks, bring your trailers,” Leishman said. “Pick it up and take it with you.”

Leishman, a St. George native, has been selling furniture in Southern Utah for the past 25 years. He established Downtown Furniture in 2008 with the goal of providing high-quality furniture at everyday low prices. Offering a variety of name brands and American-made products, it quickly became known as “the place where locals shop.”

Downtown Furniture is located in the historic Big Arch Building, a familiar sight along St. George Boulevard. Built in 1960, the structure is best known for housing the popular Big Dome Roller Rink on the upper floor for decades.

It’s not just the nostalgic value of this location that gives Downtown Furniture its small-town charm, however. The store’s core team, which consists of Leishman and three longtime friends, have built a reputation for exceptional service and personal accountability. Customers still ask for and recognize employees by name, he said, even if they haven’t been in the showroom for a few years.

“The store’s closing will leave a void,” he added. “We’re one of the last to have that small, hometown feel where you get personal service from everybody. There’s no store that I can think of like us in St. George anymore.”

Saying goodbye is never easy, but Leishman, who has been selling furniture on St. George Boulevard since 1999, is filled with gratitude as he reflects on the last quarter-century and all the customers who have trusted Downtown Furniture to be their local furniture store. He built the company from the ground up and turned it into a profitable business, while at the same time providing quality furniture at great prices.

“Thank you so much for supporting our little store,” he said. “You’ve helped our family, our business and our success all these years.”

Whether you need to furnish an entire room on a budget or you’re just looking to pick up a new piece at a great price, don’t miss your chance to shop Downtown Furniture’s store closing sale. Stop by their St. George location at 155 W. St. George Blvd. today.
