Downtown Furniture, which Leishman calls “the biggest little furniture store in Southern Utah,” specializes in selling name-brand furniture at unbeatable prices. Between their main location in the heart of St. George and their Cedar City showroom, they offer the largest selection in the area. They deliver locally for free and offer complimentary same-day or next-day delivery of any purchase over $500. 

Customers will find products for every room of the house, including mattresses, bedroom sets, dining sets, office furniture, kids’ furniture and accent pieces. Many products are manufactured in the United States to superior quality standards. 

“We don’t sell cheap furniture at cheap prices,” Leishman said. “We offer quality furniture at affordable prices. For the money and the value, we beat everybody else.” 

Downtown Furniture also offers more motion furniture options than any other store in Southern Utah, said Leishman, adding that his customers have a distinct advantage when it comes to style and color options. They have a wide variety of recliners as well as sectionals, sofas and loveseats with motion, plus sofa sleepers and adjustable bed frames. 

After battling through supply chain delays that plagued the entire furniture industry, Downtown Furniture is now able to process special orders within a much more reasonable time frame. Most custom pieces can be delivered in 5-10 weeks, Leishman said.

With that being said, he added that it’s still a turbulent time, economically speaking, for small businesses like Downtown Furniture. During this season of giving thanks, he’s especially grateful to the community for their continuing support.

Downtown Furniture’s main showroom, located in the historic Big Arch Building, is a familiar sight along St. George Boulevard. Built in 1960, the structure is best known for housing the popular Big Dome Roller Rink on the upper floor for decades. It’s not just the nostalgic value of their location that gives Downtown Furniture its small-town charm, however.

“It definitely feels like a mom-and-pop store,” he said. “We’re big enough that we can have great quality and great value, yet you still feel like you’re being treated like family.”
