As the days grow longer and the weather warms, the annual Spring Fest kick starts the new season with activities for all ages on Thursday, March 28, at the center of campus in Encampment Mall.

The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and include free children’s egg hunts, the Golden Egg Hunt Challenge for participants aged 16 and older, carnival games, and dining options from local food trucks. Live performers will play music throughout the evening.

The free children’s egg hunts start at 6 p.m. and hunts are divided by age group. Utah Tech has scattered 20,000 eggs around its polytechnical campus. There will be a section for children with special needs. Participants are directed to bring their own baskets.

The Golden Egg Hunt Challenge, starting at 7 p.m., is an egg and scavenger hunt for those ages 16 and older. Clues will be provided throughout that allude to the location of golden eggs. Registration fee is $15.

The event will wrap at 8 p.m. Before you leave, be sure to take a photo with Brooks the Bison and the Easter Bunny.

The event is organized in collaboration with Utah Tech’s Student Association, Alumni Association, Center for Inclusion and Belonging, Athletics, Stem Outreach Center and University Events and Promotions.

This Spring Fest is unique in that it aligns with the campus’ Inclusion Week. Mike Nelson, director of the Center for Inclusion and Belonging, told St. George News that after volunteers help set up the event, department representatives will be present at a booth.

“Connection within the community and other departments is one benefit we hope to achieve,” Nelson said.

He also highlighted that the week, dedicated as Inclusion Week, is full of activities, starting on Monday, March 25, and ending Friday, March 29.

“We will have things like Taste Around the World, ASL Bingo and a Neurodiversity Fair,” he said.
