Taylor Seumalu

Oct. 7, 1959-March 8, 2024

Taylor Seumalu was born in Solaua, Samoa, on Oct. 7, 1959, to Noa Faanu Leoa Seumalu and Olivia Siteine Seumalu.  He was No. 4 out of 14 siblings. He was raised by his loving Grandparents (Aviata and Tauvale Siteine) who have taught and given him many talents such as fishing, farming, carpentry and singing.  Taylor was full of life and traveled and lived in many places.

He attended Church College of Western Samoa and continued to study at BYU-Hawaii. He moved to Florida to be close to his sister then moved to Salt Lake City where he met and married Cheri Brown and they were blessed with their son Joshua whom he adored. He later moved to St. George.

He also lived in Maui and enjoyed the entertainment world of fire knife dancing. He had two beautiful girls, Hennessy  and Remy, with Beverly Lane. He moved back to be closer to his family and settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. He met the love of his life Lisa Bernauer who passed away in 2020; they had a beautiful blended family.

The last years of his life were dedicated to working at the Las Vegas Temple. He would light up a room with his jokes and make us all laugh. He carried his ukulele to play for any family gatherings and liked to go places in his retro van and camp at any place close to the ocean. He left a wonderful legacy for his family and friends to remember and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by Joshua Taylor Seumalu (son), Hennessy Malee Seumalu (daughter), Remy Nafanua Seumalu (daughter), Anna Bernauer (step-daughter), Katie Bernauer (step-daughter), Steven Bernauer (step-son). Taylor was preceded in death by Lisa Bernauer Seumalu (spouse), Noa Leoa Faanu Seumalu (father), Sally Seumalu Mulitalo (sister), Aviata Kota Siteine (grandfather) and Tauvale Tafua Siteine(grandmother).

We love you Taylor!
