The Maybelle Series, a songwriting series that focuses on showcasing and developing female songwriters, is renowned for its in-the-round format, providing an intimate setting for artists to connect with their audiences on a personal level. This format allows each musician to share the stories behind their songs, offering a deeper and more meaningful experience for attendees.

“This concert is a chance not to be missed,” said Bumbleberry Inn owner Stan Smith, emphasizing the rarity of seeing these three exceptional artists share the stage. “The Maybelle Series celebrates the craft of songwriting and the unique perspectives that female artists bring to the world of music. We invite everyone to join us for an evening filled with soulful performances and the magic of musical storytelling.”

Williams, Butler and Sevy, three distinguished artists in their own right, will grace the stage together for an unforgettable night of music and storytelling. Audiences can expect a diverse range of musical styles and a showcase of the immense talent within the local music scene.

Williams is a singer-songwriter based in Southern Utah and the founder of The Maybelle Series. With a songwriting style that has been described as “a melodic sucker-punch right to the heart,” her original songs tell the stories of everyday folks: small-town hairdressers, worried mothers or the lucky winner of the Texas lottery. She grew up playing fiddle and bass in a family band, and her folk and bluegrass roots shine through in her songwriting as well as her energy on stage. Her most recent album, “The Apple and the Tree,” is available now on all streaming platforms.

Utah-based singer-songwriter, musical explorer and multicultural educator Butler has released five full-length albums of original music and collaborated with talented artists like Cherie Call, Ryan Tilby and Mary Bragg. She has received multiple honors and awards for her original compositions, including a Parents’ Choice Award and co-winning the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Singer-songwriter and Southern Utah native Sevy has been singing and writing songs all her life. Her voice and music embrace an indie-folk and somewhat haunting tone. Combined with her eclectic songwriting abilities, this makes for an emotional, brooding and yet rowdy performance for all ages. She writes about the struggles of humanity, heartbreak and hope. Her second record, “Tell Me a Lie,” will come out this summer.

“All three of these women are very accomplished singer-songwriters,” Smith said. “When we had The Maybelle Series last year, the concert was so well-received that people have been asking me since then when I’m going to bring them back.”
