Dec. 4, 1931-Jan. 28, 2024

Alberta L. Pace, age 92, passed away last Sunday morning Jan. 28, 2024, at Sterling Court in St. George, Utah. She was born Dec. 4, 1931, in Caldwell, Idaho to Veryl Edward Dewey and Helen May Woodruff.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Lorin D. Lee and later husband Neil E. Pace, also her son Benjamin Edward Lee (wife Elizabeth) and David Aaron Lee. She is survived by Robyn New (husband Roger), Michael Lee (wife Elizabeth) Daniel Lee (wife Leslie) and Kevin Lee (wife Sheryl).

She attended Boise State College, was an accomplished pianist and runner-up to the Miss Boise competition of 1949 when she met her first husband-to-be on a $5 bet that he couldn’t get a date with her. They were engaged seven days and 11 hours later.

She loved to swim, to sail and to ride in fast cars. According to her children, she “could not be scared.” She was a school bus driver for many years, also loved music, attending plays and served over 20 years as a ward missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But most of all, she loved tending her orchards filled with peaches  and especially her cherries, which are loved throughout Southern Utah.
