BRIAN HEAD — Ring in the New Year with “one of the biggest celebrations of the season.”
Southern Utahns are invited to join Brian Head Resort in the “snow-covered mountains” to celebrate New Year’s Eve with night skiing, fireworks and a torchlight parade on Sunday, Treehouse Communications’ James Graven told Cedar City News.
Beginning at 4 p.m., night skiing is open with children 12 and under skiing for free. Shortly after, at 4:30 p.m., Fenwick Way will provide live music at Brian Head Lodge, Graven added.
With the torchlight parade beginning at 6:30 p.m., Brian Head Resort will “light up the slopes” at the Giant Steps Lodge, Graven said. The annual tradition involves resort ski patrollers snaking down the mountainside with lit torches.
According to Visit Cedar City-Brian Head, the event is “one of the biggest celebrations of the season,” with a fireworks display overtaking the area’s clear mountain skies shortly afterward at 7 p.m.
From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., Muddy Boots, a contemporary country and classic rock band will perform live at the Last Chair Grill & Brews. However, it appears that reservations to eat at the restaurant are now full, according to the resort.
“There is no cover charge and everyone is invited to come ring in the New Year,” according to Visit Cedar City-Brian Head.
