Charles Sivley

May 6, 1951 — Dec. 19, 2023

Charles Sivley Jr. of Hildale, Utah, has now graduated into New Jerusalem as of Dec. 19, 2023, to be with all the other sons of God celebrating in glory.

Charles was born May 6, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio to Charles Sivley Sr. and Glena Nadine Smith. An outdoorsman to the greatest extent, he loved hiking and camping and possessed a wealth of knowledge when it came to artifacts and petroglyphs such as Indian or Spanish. He could go on for hours talking about what he had learned from Spanish diaries and his archaeologist friends. He also loved to tinker on his muscle cars as well.

Charles was also a very witty man in his thought process. He amazed people with his ability to make something out of literally nothing. Often people would call him for advice on what they should do with what they had. He was such a selfless, laid-back funny guy, and he would cross an ocean to help someone if he could.

First and foremost, Charles was an incredible man of God. To many, he was known as a walking Bible. He was most certainly united in spirit with the Lord and was one with the Lord. (1 Corinthians 6:17)

He had a passion and zeal to study the scriptures and rightly divide the truth of the Word of God, and he encouraged everyone who had ears to hear to do the same. He helped so many hurting people through all kinds of various problems, and he did it by and through God.

He would often say, “You can do something for God that no one else can do.” He made such an impact on the hearts and lives of so many.

Currently, Charles and his wife Leah offer audio and video teachings through their website and YouTube channel Prevailing Word Publishing, which Leah plans to continue with their daughter Zoe. They traveled all over ministering the Word of God in tents, churches, home groups, homeless shelters, and provided publications and help to inmates.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Gail. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Leah, and his children as follows: son, Josh and wife Andrea, daughter, Sara and husband Roger, and his youngest daughter Zoe, all of Utah. Two incredibly special stepchildren who he considered his own, Tina and Cole both of Missouri.

Along with his children, he has a beautiful handsome grandson, Oliver of Utah, and a wonderful step-grandson, Grimm of Missouri. He also leaves behind his sister, Nancy of Utah, an incredibly special friend who was closer than any brother, Dale also of Utah, and nephews, David of Nevada and Daniel of California.

The list of spiritual families Charles had was innumerable, and each one held an incredibly special place in his heart. Every morning Charles would begin the first few hours of his day interceding on behalf of all those he loved, then of course he would continue in the word of God.

Since Charles was such an outdoorsman, plans are to have a praise and worship service in his honor on May 6, 2024, which was his birthday. The time and venue have not yet been determined as it will be held outside.

Leah will plan to make final announcements on their YouTube channel as the date gets closer, so please feel free to subscribe to their channel Prevailing Word Publishing.

Charles would have wanted everyone to celebrate and exalt God at this time. There are no words really to express the kind of man he was and the impact he had upon many people.

Though we celebrate immensely for his eternal victory, many are finding there is a huge void in his absence. Charles would encourage you all to fill that void with God. “Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His godly ones.” (Psalm 116:15)

Charles was an amazing example of one who would walk as Jesus walked, and was an epistle read and known by all men. As Charles would say, “Get into the Word of God, and allow the Word of God to get into you.”

Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454. Family and friends are invited to click here to leave a memory on the Spilsbury Mortuary website.
