Brody Mason Kirton

April 6, 1987-Dec. 3, 2023

Brody Mason Kirton, 36, passed away and departed his mortal body on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023. He was born April 6, 1987, in Bountiful, Utah, to Joe Kirton and Shelly Phelps Kirton. Brody was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Brody spent his adolescent years growing up in Davis County, learning important skills from his parents, his Scout leaders and his many friends. Brody was an exuberant young man who was always smiling and bringing cheer to others. He became very fond of things like camping, boating, riding motorcycles and being outdoors.

This is where Brody met the love of his life, whom he would later marry and start a family with.

Brody was very particular when it came to food and would often refuse to eat what his parents provided him. This is likely where he developed a particular taste for food and became an exceptional foody, which many can attest to.

Brody and his family moved to Southern Utah in 2003, and he continued his education and his love of outdoors to include hiking, biking, motocross, and his most recent passion, softball.

Brody became an accomplished HVAC technician and installer, working for companies in Southern Utah and Northern Utah. This was his chosen profession and enjoyed fixing mechanical things.

In 2012, Brody married Tara Crocket, and they later divorced. Together, they have three beautiful children.

Brody battled addiction through most of his adult life. He gained strength through the many recovery relationships that were formed and the support groups that he actively participated in. It was because of his addiction that he became deeply depressed and subsequently took his own life.

Brody is survived by his parents, his younger brothers Shawn and Bryant Kirton (both of Washington, Utah) his children, Paislee, Deegan, and Cicilee Kirton (all of Ogden, Utah), and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents David and Lorraine Phelps and Joseph and Dorothy Kirton.
