Aug. 2, 1943-Nov. 29, 2023

Robert Louis Reitano, age 80, finished his yearlong battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 29, 2023. Robert was born Aug. 2, 1943, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Sidney and Clare Pearl Singer Reitano. He was the third of eight children. 

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings — his older brother Andre and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Carrol Spencer Reitano, sisters Sydney and Mary, his brothers, Dan, David, and Dennis; three children from his first marriage — Annette Reitano, Robert Reitano (wife and six children), Tina Geocker (Scott and her three sons Cody and Brenden O’Kelly and Kaleb Fisher) and two daughters with Carrol – Jennifer Salvador (Tito and their sons Tito and Kaleb). And last but not least Kristina Reitano who has shared in his care for the last year. 

Robert spent his last days at home under the care of his family and an amazing hospice team. Thank you, hospice.

Robert was raised in Michigan. In 1976 he was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized. He later saw a picture of the St. George, Utah, temple and was inspired to bring his children and move to St. George. This was his temple where he received all his temple ordinances. The last 10 years before it was closed, he loved serving two shifts per week working as an ordinance worker and was anxiously awaiting the re-opening so he could continue to serve. That dream was cut short. He loved the church. He loved the temple. He loved missionary work. He loved his family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec., 9, at noon with a viewing prior to the service from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Quail Ridge Ward, 807 West Capilla Road Washington, Utah. Interment will be at Washington City Cemetery, 300 Park View Drive, Washington.
