According to a news release issued Monday morning and posted on social media by the St. George Police Department, officers responded to the 2900 block of East 110 Circle on a report of a possible drive-by shooting shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers learned that several shots were reportedly fired in the direction of a residence near Millcreek Park just north of Riverside Drive in St. George.

While processing the scene, detectives obtained video footage that identified the vehicle allegedly involved in the incident. St. George Police Sgt. Tyrell Bangerter described the vehicle as a dark-red BMW and said it had been reported stolen prior to the shooting.

Police say the vehicle was spotted by officers during a canvass of the area, but after a short pursuit, officers lost sight of the car. The BMW was found abandoned a short while later and was impounded for processing by police.

No injuries were reported and the total number of suspects involved in the incident is unknown at this time, Bangerter said.

Detectives are actively investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4300, and refer to incident No. 23-P022066.
