Red Rock Companies, which consists of Red Rock Real Estate, Red Rock Vacation Rentals and Red Rock Property Management, is known for giving back to the community it loves and thrives in. And they’re making it happen significantly through their long-term partnership with Make-A-Wish Utah!

“We want to help grant wishes for as many Southern Utah children as we can. We have a goal to grant at least 10 local children’s wishes this year. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Make-A-Wish to provide joy and hope for these children,” said Adam Legg, CEO of Red Rock Companies.

This is the second wish proclamation event Red Rock has hosted for a local family this year. In the spring, they granted a wish for Zion, a 4-year-old boy who has been battling leukemia since March 2022. Legg said Zion and his family were able to visit Disney World in April.

“Granting a wish does have an emotional impact on the family and is something they can look forward to,” he added. “Research shows that wishes are an essential part of a child’s treatment plan and provide resilience and strength to help kids battle their critical illness.”

Red Rock’s most recent wish comes from 3-year-old Cashdyn, who lives with his family in Southern Utah. His mom said he loves to run, play outside with his two brothers, ride his bike, go camping and ride four-wheelers.

Cashdyn has been through a lot in the past few years. His first cancer diagnosis came when he was just 6 months old. He has watched “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” during all of his treatments. Cashdyn has fallen in love with Mickey and his friends, who are featured on many of his blankets, pajamas, toys and more.

“With going to Disney World, Cashdyn is really excited to meet Mickey Mouse and his friends,” said Hannah Parker, Chief of Staff for Red Rock Companies. “That’s something they have been talking about a lot through his treatment process. He talks about his dream to dance with Mickey almost every day.”

“For Cashdyn’s wish proclamation, where he would be told his wish to go to Disney World is coming true, we wanted to do something special,” said Katherine Chipman, Red Rock Companies Executive Assistant.

One of Red Rock’s vacation rental owners generously donated their home at Desert Color for the event as well as a two-night stay for Cashdyn and his family. Cashdyn loves to swim and go to the beach, so with a large lagoon and a private pool located just steps away, Desert Color offered the perfect getaway.

“Being involved with Make-A-Wish is such an incredible experience, and we wanted to give our employees an opportunity to participate,” Legg said.

About 40 Red Rock employees helped with the planning and carrying out of Cashdyn’s wish proclamation party. The party focused on Cashdyn and the many things he loves, including several Mickey Mouse activities, a kid-size racetrack with “Cars” movie characters, bubbles, balloons, a Mickey photo booth and lots of pizza. About 60 of Cashdyn’s family members and friends were able to enjoy the party with him.

Cashyn received puzzle pieces during the games and activities. Near the end of the party, he put the puzzle together. One of his brothers then read what it said, announcing that they’re going to Disney World!

Red Rock’s team absolutely loved helping with Cashdyn’s party, Parker said, adding that everyone kept saying how he’s such a happy, friendly, excited, appreciative and sweet boy. After the party, Cashdyn’s mom told them that it was the happiest she has ever seen him.

These two Disney World wishes aren’t the only wishes being granted by Red Rock through their partnership with Make-A-Wish Utah. Parker said Red Rock Real Estate agents have donated personally to grant more children’s wishes. And they’re not slowing down anytime soon!

“We have been so impressed with our agents, employees and partners and their eagerness to get involved,” Legg said. “It has been awesome to see the real estate community come together and focus on this goal.”

There are many opportunities to be involved, and there’s a great need for granting children’s wishes in Southern Utah. Red Rock is well on their way to granting 10 local children’s wishes this year. With each wish coming in at $6,000, their goal is to raise at least $60,000 in 2023.

“Red Rock has become Southern Utah’s leader in all real estate-related services, and the thing I’m most proud of is our ability to do things like this. These are the things that really matter in life; these are the important things,” Legg said. “I’m so grateful to all of our agents, employees, partners and the community for helping get Red Rock to a point where it can focus on the important things in life.”
