Nearly 20,000 people are expected to gather at Greater Zion Stadium on July 4 to ring in America’s 247th birthday with a night of thrilling live performances. Tickets are selling quickly, so don’t miss your chance to join the party.

“Everything is shaping up for this to be the best Fourth of July show we’ve ever put on,” Canyon Media General Manager Ben Lindquist said. “It’s a great place to bring your family and celebrate America with truly spectacular entertainment.”

United We Pledge will present a patriotic tribute show featuring Daniel Emmet, William Joseph and the Vocal Motion Show Choir during the first hour of the celebration, beginning at 6:55 p.m. The largest American flag ever flown will be unfurled within the stadium, and don’t miss a special surprise unveiling.

Country pop superstar Kelsea Ballerini will take the stage at 8:20 p.m. to electrify the crowd with smashes like the double-platinum “Miss Me More” and “Peter Pan,” the platinum-selling “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Half of My Hometown” and “Hole in the Bottle,” and the gold-selling “I Quit Drinking.”

Ballerini has been gaining fans around the world since 2015, when she became the only female country artist to hit No. 1 with the first three consecutive singles from a debut album. She has charted seven No. 1 singles and five back-to-back top 10 entries on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, including her most recent release, “Subject to Change,” which came out last year.

Ballerini has garnered three Grammy nods, won two Academy of Country Music Awards and two Country Music Association Awards, and received nominations from the American Music Awards and People’s Choice Awards. Most recently, she earned a nomination for “Female Artist of the Year” at the 2023 ACM Awards, and the video for her hit single “Heartfirst” received a nomination for “Visual Media of the Year.”

“It’s going to be an unforgettable experience,” said Valerie De La O, events and promotions coordinator for Utah Tech. “Kelsea Ballerini is one of the biggest performers we’ve ever welcomed to St. George, and we’re so excited for you to relax on the field, explore the food truck village and bask in the beauty of our campus while enjoying the performances and fireworks.”

The largest pyrotechnic display in Southern Utah history, synchronized to music and narration, will blast off from the Utah Tech Encampment Mall just behind the stadium at 10 p.m. St. George residents can view the fireworks from almost anywhere in the downtown area, and the show’s accompanying program will be broadcast live on 99.9 KONY Country. People are also welcome to watch the fireworks for free at the Encampment Mall.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early in order to find parking, walk to the stadium and find a place to enjoy the show. All Utah Tech parking lots are free to use and open to the public.

All stadium gates on both the east and west sides will be open for entry this year. General admission seating is first come, first serve, and the blanket seating on the field is expected to fill up quickly.

Every concertgoer, including children, must have an individual ticket. Tickets will be scanned at the gate. Click here for maps of the stadium and campus as well as a list of prohibited items.

Outside food and drink aren’t allowed, but there will be plenty of refreshment options, including Utah Tech concessions and a food truck village. Water refill stations are located inside the stadium.

Before the concert and fireworks show, the city of St. George will host a full day of events including the Independence Carnival, the 4th of July Parade and the Uncle Sam 4K. Bring the whole family to Town Square Park, located in the heart of historic downtown at 50 S. Main Street. From live music and food booths to bounce houses and a talent show, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

“We’ve worked hard to make it better than ever,” said David Cordero, communications and marketing director for the city of St. George. “July 4th is an opportunity for us to take a look at all the things we share, instead of our differences, and celebrate what a great country we live in.”
