At approximately 2:47 p.m., a red Dodge Ram reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign at 500 S., and collided with the side of a gold Chevrolet on 400 E., which is a through-street, St. George Fire Battalion Chief Darren Imlay told St. George News.

“Somebody wasn’t watching,” he said.

The impacted SUV tipped onto its side briefly before coming to rest on its wheels, St. George Police Officer Ryan Collier said, adding that “everyone’s OK — just minor injuries, mostly.”

One occupant sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital via a Gold Cross Ambulance, Imlay said. No other major injuries were reported.

The driver who allegedly ran the stop sign was cited, Collier said.

A passerby described the damage to the Chevrolet as similar to crumpled paper, while visible skid marks could be seen on the other side. The Dodge’s front end sustained significant damage from the impact. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, which was cleared in just over an hour.

A Utah Tech University Police officer also assisted at the scene.
