CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — The future is here, and it’s fiber. Offering superior speed and quality over other ways to get online, the possibilities of fiber internet are virtually endless.

Upgrading older infrastructure to fiber requires tearing up roads and front yards to lay new cable, a process that’s both expensive and time-consuming. Enter FiberWave technology, which InfoWest started installing across Southern Utah at the beginning of this year.

“The future has never been brighter for the internet in Southern Utah,” InfoWest chief operating officer Randy Cosby said. “With FiberWave, you don’t have to wait on construction to get gig-speed internet.”

What is FiberWave internet?

FiberWave is the latest development in wireless internet. This technology allows InfoWest to deploy faster speeds to growing communities without the cost of trenching fiber.

With FiberWave, residential and business customers can enjoy both the speed and stability of fiber. Plans start at 100 megabits per second and can reach as fast as 1 gigabit per second.

If you don’t see FiberWave near your home yet, give us a call,” Cosby said. “We can walk you through all our great internet options and reach out to you when FiberWave is in your area.”

Why is gigabit speed so important?

When shopping for an internet provider, Cosby said it’s essential to examine the upload and download speeds offered by each plan. Symmetrical internet gives customers the fastest speeds possible to perform upload-heavy tasks like making video calls, livestreaming and posting content to social media sites.

InfoWest gives customers the same upload and download speed on every plan, which means they can upload to the cloud as fast as they can download and stream movies. Cosby said that faster internet, including access to fiber, improves customers’ quality of life, makes working from home easier and has been shown to increase a home’s resale value.

Who can benefit from FiberWave?

FiberWave is a great fit for both businesses and homeowners, Cosby said. Gigabit speeds allow customers to get multiple devices online while keeping the connection fast and strong. Just like traditional fiber, InfoWest expects 99.99% network uptime for FiberWave users.

InfoWest is not only expanding FiberWave across Southern Utah, but we’re also laying fiber lines with Go Fiber,” Cosby said. “This dual-band approach gives us even greater reliability and gives internet users the choices they want.”

Why should I choose InfoWest as my internet provider?

InfoWest is Southern Utah’s hometown internet provider. The company manages offices in St. George, Cedar City, Richfield and Overton, Nevada, with friendly, local support technicians available by phone 24/7.

InfoWest brought the internet to Southern Utah and has been keeping the area online since 1994. As technology continues to evolve and create new possibilities, the company remains a leader in connectivity. They’re committed to providing the ultimate internet experience one customer at a time.
