Santa Clara – Ivins Fire & Rescue Fire Chief Andrew Parker told St. George News they received a report of a vehicle fire around 9:30 a.m. at 301 S. 100 W. in Ivins. Engine 32 responded from the Ivins Fire Station along with the Santa Clara Police Department.

“We basically had a motorcycle that was well involved with fire in the center of the road,” Parker said. “There were no exposures reported and the occupant of the motorcycle had left the scene.”

Parker said it’s believed that the driver of the motorcycle was performing some type of repair prior to the fire, but they were unable to determine who the rider was at that time. The fire was extinguished without injury and crews were in the mop-up stage by 9:45 a.m.

This report is based on statements from responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
