Scooter rider talking, conscious after being struck by a vehicle in busy St. George intersection

ST. GEORGE — An adult male riding an electric scooter was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon at the busy intersection of 1000 East and St. George Boulevard.

According to St. George Police Officer Tiffany Mitchell, an officer responded to the vehicle vs. scooter collision at the intersection shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Mitchell said the adult male riding on the scooter entered the roadway at the intersection and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on St. George Boulevard with a green light.

Mitchell added that the vehicle was traveling around 30 mph when the collision occurred. She said that the male on the scooter sustained head trauma and was transported to St. George Regional Hospital.

Mitchell also said the scooter rider was conscious and responding to medics’ questions when he left the scene.
