Stephen A. Bowers

Aug. 30, 1950 – Feb. 17, 2022

Stephen A. Bowers, Esq., age 71, went home to the Lord on Feb. 17, 2022. He was a resident of St. George, Utah. He was born Aug. 30, 1950 in Greensburg, Indiana, where grew up on a farm. He would tell his best stories about growing up as a farm boy in Indiana. He graduated from John Herron Art Institute, Indiana University in 1972. He lived in California working in construction, his first love, and he received his law degree from Pepperdine University class of 1990 JD, after which he practiced law for three decades in multiple states. He subsequently moved to St. George, Utah, continuing his law practice. While he was very successful in law, his true passion was art, as clearly demonstrated by his paintings and prolific and humorous sketches, many of which were published.

Stephen was the oldest of six children. He is survived by his two sons, Matthew Bowers and Nathan Bowers (Kimberly); his siblings Dale (Debbie), John (Diane), David (Shawn), Rebecca (James Davis), Rachel (Allen Shelley); many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, as well as many devoted friends, who were constantly by his side through his illness. He is also survived by his faithful and loving canine companion, Wolfie, who will be front and center at Stephen’s memorial. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, M. Eileen and Harold E. Bowers and his son Aaron.

He was a devout Christian, a member of Southland Bible Church and a long-standing member of the Dixie Detachment Marine Corps League. His memorial service will be held on 1 March 2022 at 7 p.m. at Southland Bible Church, 195 E. Arrowweed Way, Washington, Utah 84780. We welcome his friends to join us to share their memories and the significance impact that Steve had in their lives.
