CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — Many people set health goals for the new year but might be struggling to stay on track by the time spring comes around. Nutrition and general health panel testing from Any Lab Test Now in St. George can help you accomplish your objectives with quick, easy-to-understand results.

From determining blood type to estimating genetic likelihood for certain diseases, Any Lab Test Now empowers people to take control of their health. The lab facilitates comprehensive testing panels in much less time and for significantly lower out-of-pocket cost than visiting their primary care provider. The results offer valuable diagnostic tools that customers can present to their doctor for discussion or keep for their own reference.

Health goals often involve making dietary changes. Lab manager Daniel Smith said vitamin testing is a crucial component of eating for better health, whether keeping the immune system strong with vitamin C or boosting B12 levels for energy and accelerated weight loss.

Any Lab Test Now helps customers identify dietary shortcomings with results based on the normal parameters for age and gender. Nutrition testing can also help detect underlying health conditions such as thyroid disease.

Smith took one of the lab’s nutrition panels and discovered his copper and iron levels were extremely low, which was contributing to dizziness and fatigue. As it turns out, his family has a history of anemia.

“Nutrition testing plays a huge role in our day-to-day life,” he said. “As a bonus, some of our tests even recommend food supplements instead of pills that you can use to boost your vitamin levels.”

Smith recommends starting with the Annual Check-Up Panel for $129. The panel includes five tests that are typically ordered by a physician during an annual physical. It’s the best way to establish a “baseline” consisting of blood counts, kidney function, liver function, electrolytes, total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL and thyroid function values. By knowing these levels, people can begin managing their own health to see if they fluctuate over time.

Additionally, Any Lab Test Now screens for food sensitivities as well as a variety of conditions including Lyme disease, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, tuberculosis, measles, cystic fibrosis and sickle cell disease. The lab can also test for exposure to mold, arsenic, lead, mercury and other hazardous substances.

Customers can get answers to life’s most personal questions with legally admissible paternity and DNA tests. Any Lab Test Now also offers comprehensive testing panels for sexually transmitted diseases including HIV and a variety of both legal and illegal drugs.

Expecting parents may choose to find out the sex of their baby as early as eight weeks with 99% accuracy. Pet owners can even uncover the genetic makeup of their pooch with canine ancestry testing.

Results can often be delivered the next day, although some tests require a two- to three-day turnaround. For many tests, the collection process takes as little as 15 minutes. There’s no appointment and waiting room to build anxiety.

“Some people think that needles and blood tests are a scary thing, but our phlebotomists here are top-notch,” Smith said. “You might not even feel the needle insert, and most of the time it’s a pretty simple, painless draw.”

Unlike medical labs, Any Lab Test Now doesn’t require a doctor’s referral. Customers can simply walk in anytime during business hours if they have concerns about their health or need questions answered.

As a self-pay service, Any Lab Test Now doesn’t accept health insurance. However, customers may use HSA and FSA cards to cover testing costs.

Being a self-pay lab provides significant financial advantages over testing at a medical lab, Smith said. For customers with a restrictively high deductible or no health coverage, Any Lab Test Now helps bridge the gap to the resources they need to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“We want to make sure people get the most for their money.”

Any Lab Test Now is one of more than 170 independently owned and operated franchise locations and is affiliated with accredited labs throughout the country. The St. George lab has been serving the community since 2010 and continues to expand its menu of tests.
