ST. GEORGE — A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and transported to the hospital Thursday night.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., a vehicle was traveling south on Bluff Street near Guru’s Sports Bar & Grill when they came upon a pedestrian in the roadway and attempted to stop, St. George Police officer Tiffany Mitchell told St. George News in a text.

The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and was under a streetlight that was not illuminated, creating a “perfect storm,” Mitchell said. The vehicle was traveling  5-10 miles per hour.

A Gold Cross Ambulance transported the pedestrian to St. George Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Mitchell said.

A complaint request will be submitted for the pedestrian being in the roadway and for intoxication, she added.

The St. George Fire Department also responded to the call.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by first responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
