The incident, which occurred shortly after noon on a dirt road near 425 South and 2300 West, involved a 2022 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with an adult male driver as its only occupant.

Parowan Police Chief Addison Adams said it appears that the man experienced some sort of medical issue, causing him to crash.

Although the vehicle soon became completely engulfed in flames, the driver was able to get out of the truck safely with only minor injuries, Adams said.

“Medical responders checked him but he declined further treatment,” Adams added.

Local firefighters from the Paragonah Fire Department, along with state and federal wildland fire crews and resources, were able to respond quickly to the scene and limit the blaze’s spread to approximately a quarter of an acre.

This report is based on information provided by law enforcement and other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
