Brian Head Resort kicks off eventful summer season with scenic chairlift rides, other activities

BRIAN HEAD — Brian Head Resort is welcoming summer with lift-served mountain biking and scenic chairlift rides starting Friday, June 14.

Throughout the summer, Brian Head Resort offers mountain bike and trail races, scenic chairlift rides, family friendly activities, live music, outdoor events and free drive-in movies.

The high-speed Giant Steps Express Lift (Lift 2) will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday through Sunday until Sept. 29, with extended days including July 4, 11, 24 and 25. When purchasing advance tickets online, biking and activity passes begin at $19 on select dates, while children ages 12 and younger enjoy free lift-served mountain biking all year.

Mountain Bike Park

The Bike Park’s lift-served, gravity-fed descents feature 19 interchangeable downhill bike trails, with options for families, experts and everyone in between. Built in 2023, the new Grit n’ Gravy jumpline is designed and maintained in collaboration with Momentum Trail Concepts.

Adventure Zone

Escape the summer heat with scenic chairlift rides, the Adventure Hiking Trail, tubing, a mini zip-line, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, batting cage and disc golf. The family-friendly Adventure Zone is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays through Sundays until Aug. 11. From Aug. 17 through Sept. 15, the Adventure Zone will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Signature Events

Brian Head Resort is the ideal summertime destination with pleasant temperatures and a full lineup of events, from live music and family entertainment to competitive cycling events, including the following:

  • Fourth of July celebration (July 4-6): Fireworks show and celebration continues throughout the weekend with live music, food and fun for the whole family.
  • Big Mountain Enduro (July 13-14): Brian Head Resort hosts the nationally renowned race series where the best riders compete in a mix of backcountry and lift-accessed stages.
  • Festival of Flavors and Live Music (Aug. 3): Take your senses on tour with scenic beauty, live music, and a variety of local food, beer and wine.
  • Brian Head Shredder Downhill Race (Aug. 11). The Utah Gravity Series is back at Brian Head Resort, featuring America’s best gravity racing.
  • Country Music Festival (Aug. 24): Bring the family for dancing and live music set to an alpine backdrop. Music starts at 1 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m. Food and beverages will be served until 8 p.m. at the Giant Steps base area.
  • Oktoberfest (Sept. 14): The annual event features activities and entertainment, including games, live music, food and beer tasting.
  • Drive-in movies: Spend an evening under the stars with movies at the Giant Steps base area. Movies start at 9 p.m. on select dates, including Top Gun on Friday, June 28, Forrest Gump on Thursday, July 25, and Jumanji on Friday, Aug. 16.
