Lori Jo Burton-Lynch transitioned peacefully from this life on Jan. 23, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family at St. George Regional Hospital. Lori’s radiant spirit and warm smile left a permanent mark on all those fortunate enough to cross her path. Her absence will be deeply felt by the many lives she touched.
Lori was born on a beautiful June day in Tooele, Utah, to Francis and Harriet Bryan, and spent her formative years in Tooele alongside lifelong friends Trudy and Krissy. She graduated from Tooele High School in May 1973 and, over the years, built a life rich in love and experiences.
In July 1974, she welcomed her son Bryan, and in December 1977, her family was completed with the arrival of her daughter Holly. Lori’s profound love for her children was evident in the lessons she imparted to them, among many others — the importance of love, cleanliness and hard work.
A lover of travel and adventure, Lori explored destinations far and wide, creating lasting memories with her children and grandchildren. When not on the road, she indulged in her passion for sewing and baking, infusing every recipe with her unique touch.
Bowling was one of Lori’s greatest joys, leading her to a dedicated role as a volunteer director in the Ladies and Youth Bowling League for over two decades. Her career in banking logistics spanned 40 years, beginning at UTA and culminating at Wells Fargo. In April 2012, Lori found her soul mate, Mike Lynch, with whom she shared a love for motorcycles and embarked on new adventures. They eventually settled in Scenic, Arizona, where they married in July of 2021 and spent their days enjoying card games and dart nights with friends.
Lori is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Lynch; her children Bryan (Crystal) Liddell and Holly Hunt; stepchildren Josh Lynch and Kasi (Cody) Petzold; sister Lonna (Max) Cropper, grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Harriet and Francis; sisters Judy, Jan and Pat; and brother-in-law Bill.
A celebration of Lori’s vibrant life will take place in June, with details to be announced in due course. In lieu of flowers and gifts, Lori requested that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in her honor.
