Thomas ‘Tom’ Fayer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Fayer, lovingly known as Tom, on Dec. 5, 2023, in St. George, Utah. He was 70 years old.

Tom was born to his mother Renee DeSwan Fayer on Aug. 9, 1953. As a child, he was raised by his beloved grandparents Malin and LaVerne Pickett DeSwan Cox of St. George and Pine Valley, Utah.

Tom was a well-known figure in the community, and his intelligence and curiosity made a lasting impact on all who knew him. After he graduated from Dixie High School in 1971, he became known as the ultimate bookworm, always found with a book in his hands or engrossed in solving crossword puzzles. His thirst for knowledge was truly remarkable.

Fond memories of Tom will remain forever etched in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by Norlene Stephens Flick, Dorothy DeSwan McMullin, and Carma Rae Maggard. Their love for him will endure, and they will cherish the precious moments they shared together. Tom is preceded in death by his grandparents and mother.

Tom Fayer will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his inquisitive mind, love for literature and his ability to find joy in the simplest of things. His body will be laid to rest in the St. George City Cemetery. In lieu of, flowers, family and friends would appreciate donations towards Tom’s funeral expenses.
