The Southern Utah-based band will be serving up good times for all ages in the majestic shadows of Zion Canyon and the comfort of Springdale’s premier indoor entertainment venue.

“You can expect some really good music,” Bumbleberry Inn owner Stan Smith said. “They’re playing some of the best music out of the 70s, and the 70s produced really good music. Also, they’re just a great band.”
Mountain Meadow Music was born in the corridors of a local coffee shop. Every week, Steve Smith (vocals, guitar, mandolin), Lew Winter (vocals, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, piano) and Bill Loucks (vocals, bass guitar) could be found in the halls of the Affogato West café, jamming and having fun working out songs together while waiting for their turn to play at open mic.
And that’s how it all began. Sharing a mutual love of the same timeless songs from the ’60s to the ’90s, they crafted a distinct sound that draws inspiration from such artists as James Taylor, John Denver, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and more.
Adding the talents of Franky Dee (vocals, drums, piano), the band now performs both covers and their own original songs at festivals, restaurants, events and venues throughout Southern Utah. They often find that their Americana-inspired acoustic rock sound brings back nostalgic memories for both the parents who bought these artists’ records and the children who were raised listening to them.
Mountain meadows are places of peace and solitude, places of beauty and inspiration. When one thinks of a mountain meadow, one may think of cool, crisp wisps of fresh air grounded with eternal rocks and the comforting song of rippled streams and distant wildlife. The members of Mountain Meadow Music aspire to instill similar feelings through their performances, hoping their music will be just as memorable.
“It’s really important to bring in local artists like Mountain Meadow Music,” Smith said. “It gives the musicians and performers a place to come and play, and it gives the tourists that come to Springdale a chance to get some of the local flavor and do something at nighttime.”
