Schroeder signed autographs for fans before the Pine View vs. Hurricane football game shortly before taking the field and doing the honors for the pregame coin toss.
The outreach event was part of a series of “Friday Night Showcase” appearances the Raider organization has been conducting since 2019, including the visit Schroeder made to Dixie High School last year.
According to a news release from Intermountain Health, the Raiders and Intermountain Health provide participating schools with customized banners, cheer cards, eye black, sweatbands, special decals and other Raiders-themed items. In addition, the Raiders have teamed up with Nike to provide gloves to the competing teams.
With their all-black uniforms matching the Raiders’ signature attire, the Panthers went on to win their homecoming game 42-13 over the Hurricane Tigers.
“It’s crucial for our local youth football teams to build skills in not only football but growing as individuals such as learning about mental health, volunteering in the community, and speaking up to prevent domestic violence and that’s what we are doing here in Las Vegas with Intermountain Health,” said Trevor Smith, Intermountain Health’s vice president of operations and ambulatory care in Southwest Utah.
Smith noted that the partnership between Intermountain Health and the Raiders highlights a shared commitment toward supporting local communities and values by growing the game of football through youth teams.
“The exemplary commitment of the Raiders to the community, as well as their dedication to the health and wellness of players, staff, families, and fans, has left a profound impression on Intermountain,” Smith added.
