James Donald Crisp

James Donald Crisp, 78, graduated to the next life and adventures on July 26, 2024. He was living in Ivins, Utah, at the Southern Utah Veterans Home located at the base of the beautiful Red Mountain that he loved so much. He was born in Long Beach, New York, on Dec. 12, 1945, to John D. and Eleanor Martin Crisp.

He married Neidra Ann Norton on June 27, 1972, in the Provo, Utah temple. The most important things to Jim were his family, church, volunteering and serving others. This included serving his country as a rescue pilot in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. Jim worked for the federal government for 40 years, his last assignment being here in his beloved southern Utah as manager of the St. George field office of the Bureau of Land Management. Jim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in many callings, including several bishoprics. His favorite callings were Scoutmaster and Eagle Scout coach. He and Neidra served together as ordinance workers in the St. George Temple and as service missionaries in the Records Operation Center mission in St. George.

Jim is survived by his eternal companion Neidra Ann Norton Crisp. He is also survived by children: Jamie (Terry) Wagstaff, Jodi (Duane) Dougal, Jennifer (Leif) Sirman, Jacob (Karen) Crisp, Jessica (Edward) Reese, Judith (Cory) Hecht and 21 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m., with the viewing at 9 a.m. at the Rachel Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3815 Rachel Dr., Santa Clara, Utah. Interment with military honors will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery.

The family expresses thanks to the staff, CNAs and nurses at the Southern Utah Veterans Home, especially those in the 200 unit. They also express thanks to Dixie Hospice for the compassionate care provided by them.
