After a long battle with cancer and other medical issues, Vaughn Lee Byington, age 78, left this earthly life on July 14, 2024, in Layton, Utah, at his daughter Jennifer’s home. He was surrounded by family who loved him dearly. He was born in Nampa, Idaho, on Sept. 28, 1945, to Donald and Ellen Marie (Brower) Byington. He is the fourth of 10 children and was preceded in death by his wife Ivalee, his mother and father and five siblings Russel, Opal, Curt, Francine (Neal) and Kent Byington.

He met and married Margaret Syddall (Beck) on May 31, 1967, and later went on to marry Ivalee Lewellyn-Zobrist on Jan. 31, 1982.

He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission from 1965-67 and was a district and zone leader.

Vaughn had many friends who loved and appreciated him. He was always kind and generous to a fault. Friends and family say he didn’t have a mean bone in his body and was kind to everyone he met.
