ST. GEORGE — July is National Park and Recreation Month, and the city of St. George is urging community members to visit a local park or participate in one of the city-sponsored programs that offer physical and mental health benefits.

“This year’s theme for National Park and Recreation Month is ‘Where you Belong.’ It’s a reminder that a great community is built through overall health and well-being,” said Michelle Graves, assistant director of Parks and Community Services for the city of St. George. “The resources in our city, including parks, trails and the arts provide meaningful connections for all to enjoy. We are lucky to live in a vibrant city that supports parks and recreation.”

  • Throughout the month, the Parks and Community Services Department will conduct photo contests with differing themes and prizes each week.
