ST. GEORGE — Two passengers were transported to St. George Regional Hospital after veering into the median and rolling the vehicle they were traveling in, police said.
St. George Police Department Sgt. Bryan Hendrix told St. George News the single-vehicle rollover occurred on Red Hills Parkway just before 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The white Ford F150 was driving eastbound when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in the truck veering onto the median, then “going airborne” and rolling to a stop.
The Ford truck settled on the driver’s side door. Hendrix said the driver was extricated by firefighters from Engine 27 of the St. George Fire Department and was “conscious but had visible injuries.”
The passenger, who was still buckled in his seatbelt, appeared to have suffered a partial ejection, Hendrix said.
Despite sustaining “serious” injuries, the passenger was able to walk away from the incident, authorities said.
Both were transported to St. George Regional Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance first responders. Hendrix said an open container of alcohol was found at the scene and possible charges may be forthcoming.
The investigation by police is ongoing and further details will be provided as they become available.
This report is based on statements from court records, police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
