Sharon Mary Woods

Nov. 8, 1959-May 8, 2024

Sharon Mary Woods, 64, passed away May 8, 2024. She was born in Dickenson, North Dakota, on Nov. 8, 1959, to Alvin and Theadora “Teddy” Stroh Sabroski.

Sharon was born and spent her early life in North Dakota. She was raised on her family ranch, west of Killdeer, North Dakota. This is where she gained her love & respect for animals – horses, riding her pony, raising bunnies and she really loved the baby calves and eventually dogs. As a young girl, her fondest memories were spending time at her Stroh grandparents’  home in Killdeer.

Sharon eventually moved to Dickinson, North Dakota, with her daughter, Renata in the 1980s. She spent some time traveling with Renata and her sister Sarita and then eventually moved to Phoenix, Arizona. This is where she met the love of her life, Johnny.  Sharon, Johnny and Renata had a great time living in Arizona as a new little family and were married April 2, 1988, at the Candlelite Wedding Chappel in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the sweetest intimate ceremony with Renata present. Along then came the boys, Charles in 1988 in Casa Grande, Arizona, and Tyrel in 1992 when the family was back living in Dickinson, North Dakota, for some time.

In 1993 the family relocated to Southern Utah, first living in Kanab then eventually Sharon’s “home” and finally resting place, St. George. Sharon made many good friend and memories in both Kanab and St. George. In Kanab she brought back out her “farm girl” skills and enjoyed her garden.  She was also known for her cooking and baking. Sharon had many fans of her cooking, breads and especially her cookies. She enjoyed cooking and baking with the family for all the holidays & family get-togethers, school events and church events. Johnny and Sharon were sealed April 7, 2002, in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity. Sharon also enjoyed traveling with the family when the kids were young, then going on special trips with Johnny as “empty nesters.”  She also enjoyed trips with Renata’s family and grandkids later in life.

Sharon got into dog showing and breeding French bulldogs. She had several litters of adorable French bulldogs and also championed several Frenchies in she dog show world. She at this time also got an RV and enjoyed trips with Johnny and Tyrel to dog shows all over the country. Sharon & Johnny even made it to the Eukanuba dog show.  She made many great friends in the dog show world & always cherished this time in her life.

In Sharon’s final stage of life she most enjoyed becoming a grandma. The title of “Grandma Squiggy” brought her the most joy and her little grandkids were her biggest fans, love and support in her final days.

She is survived by her loving husband Johnny M. Woods, St. George, Utah; children Renata M. Burian-Ferguson (Jeremy) Indio, California; Charles Ray Woods (Jessie) Las Vegas, Nevada, Tyrel John Woods Lake Stevens, Washington; grandchildren Natalia Woods Ferguson, Browning Roy Theordore Ferguson, David Lee Thomsen, Raiden Johnny Woods, Thomas Charles Woods; siblings Kirt (Rorrie) Sabrosky, Guthrie, Oklahoma, Delry (Cindy) Sabrosky, Dickinson, North Dakota, Sarita (Shane) Stolt, Billings, Montana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
