ST. GEORGE — Traffic through the busy intersection of Black Ridge Drive and Auto Mall Drive was impacted Friday afternoon as a two-vehicle collision partially blocked traffic.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. when the driver of a dark gray Honda Civic that was westbound on Auto Mall Drive failed to notice the red light at the intersection, St. George Police Officer Randall Burtis said.

The Honda nearly made it halfway through the intersection when it was T-boned by a blue Tesla passenger car.

While no injuries were reported in connection with the crash, both vehicles were towed after responding St. George Police officers and St. George firefighters dealt with the scene. Tow operators arrived soon after and had the intersection cleared after 4 p.m.

While a part of the intersection was temporarily blocked by the collision, police officers were able to direct traffic around the scene until it was cleared.

The driver of the Honda Civic was issued a citation for failing to obey a traffic light, Burtis said.
