CEDAR CITY — One driver attempting to depart northbound Interstate 15 at the curvy exit near milepost 59 took the turn too fast and required medical attention after their vehicle rolled on Saturday.
Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Clay Allred told Cedar City News that at approximately 2:30 p.m. the driver of a blue Ford station wagon took the off-ramp at Exit 59 in Cedar City too fast and rolled the car. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels and pointed the opposite direction.
“The vehicle went off the road, it appears to have rolled and came to rest by a tree,” Allred said. “The patient had minor injuries and the ramp was closed for a few minutes to load the car.”
Also responding were officers from Cedar City Police Department, Iron County Sheriff’s Office, Cedar City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
The patient, the only occupant in the Ford station wagon, was transported to Cedar City Hospital after help being rescued from the pinned vehicle.
This report is based on statements from court records, police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
