ST. GEORGE — Authorities have identified the suspect they believe to be responsible for the shooting deaths of a Littlefield, Arizona, couple who went missing in January 2018.
The suspect, Kenneth Gene Snyder, 57 of Littlefield, has been identified as the suspect who reportedly shot and killed Jerry McFalls and his wife Susan McFalls, according to a statement released Thursday by Mohave County Sheriff Doug Schuster.
Snyder, the suspect, was shot and killed June 1, 2023, during an unrelated incident involving a domestic assault that occurred on his property.
St. George News has covered the case since the couple went missing from their Littlefield home on Jan. 11, 2018, under mysterious circumstances. The couple’s vehicles, pets, phones, money and other personal items were found undisturbed at the home.
The remains of Susan McFalls were found along the Arizona Strip in November 2018, while a second set of human remains were found nearby and later identified as Jerry McFalls.
The case remained active as investigators continued to follow up on leads. In June 2023, one lead, which came from a number of follow-up interviews with neighbors and acquaintances, led investigators to Snyder as the one who reportedly shot and killed the couple during an argument.
When the verbal altercation between Snyder and Jerry McFalls escalated, the suspect is said to have shot Jerry McFalls first and then shot McFalls’ wife.
The suspect then removed the bodies from the property and reportedly threatened to kill the witness if they called law enforcement, according to the statement released Thursday.
After a series of search warrants and evidence collected from the lead, the Sheriff’s Office said detectives determined it was Snyder who was responsible for the death of the couple.
