The Utah Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Chapter, in partnership with Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, will be hosting their annual Hunting for Sustainability program this spring.

According to a media release, the six-week workshop will provide new and adult-onset hunters with training on how to be safe in the field, good stewards of wildlife and the basic skills necessary to be a successful big game hunter.

The workshops will include topics on conservation, gear, animal behavior, field scouting, e-scouting hunting tactics, regulations, firearm practice and safety, plus the opportunity to field dress, butcher and cook a deer. In addition, students will receive a free one-year OnX Hunt membership, a free one-year BHA membership and a blaze orange vest.

Participation is by application only. Interested participants need to apply online before March 7. Applicants must be 18 years or older and have completed Hunter Education or be a participant of the Utah Trial Hunting Program. Selected applicants will be required to pay a one-time $50 fee to help cover the basic costs of hosting this program.
