Nedra Mansor

Nov. 16, 1949 — Dec. 17, 2023

Nedra Langston Mansor passed from this world on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023 at the age of 93 while battling breast cancer for the third time. She was born in Hurricane, Utah on Oct. 12, 1930 to Maud Beardall and Francis Ivan Langston.

Nedra was raised with five siblings. First came Elaine, then Nedra, Lynn, Clair, Keith and Jean. Nedra was a 1947 graduate of Hurricane High School.

Nedra loved to dance and while attending a dance, she met the love of her life, Earl. Nedra and Earl were married in Las Vegas Nevada on Nov. 16, 1949. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on Aug. 21, 1992.

A son, Kevin, was added to their family in the summer of 1952. Nedra was pregnant at the same time as her mother and older sister, Elaine. She always called these three babies “the family triplets.”

Nedra’s small family lived in Zion National Park for almost 40 years where Earl was employed. They had many unique experiences living in a national park. They moved to Cedar City in 1983 after Earl retired.

In addition to dancing, Nedra had many interests including knitting, collecting antiques, shopping at garage sales, anything Elvis or Snoopy, and her pet dogs through the years. She completed her bachelor’s degree later in her life and was so proud she was able to do that.

She had many jobs, but her favorites were working for the National Park Service and the Iron County School District. She retired at age 85 after 28 years working with at risk students. Many of those students remembered her years later when their paths would cross.

Nedra was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Dean Christiansen; brother and sister-in-law Clair and Sheila Langston; brother Keith Langston; sister-in- law Helen Langston; and sister-in-law Ada Langston.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kevin & Briarlyn Mansor; brother and sister-in-law Lynn and Stella Langston; sister-in-law Camille Langston; sister and brother-in-law Jean and Kent Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by daughter by choice, Barbara Tatangelo and her children Katie and Kelly; along with her grandchildren by choice Nicole Johnson and Kaitlin Snyder.

Nedra also had several close friends that she considered her family. Steve and G’Ne Bartholomew; Linda Halling; Billie Hendrickson; Amy Patterson; Candy Rowberry; and Martin and Susan Tyner.

Finally, she leaves behind her special companion and dog, Charlie. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Our House Assisted Living for their kind care of Nedra. Also to Zion’s Way Home Health and Hospice, specifically Bailey, Ali, Bryce and Riley.
