ST. GEORGE — The man believed to have been involved in a robbery in St. George Monday afternoon has been apprehended by police.

No further details were available, but shortly after 2 p.m., residents around Sherman Road and the Bloomington Hills area were under an alert, from the St. George Police Department. As of 3:45 p.m., no official word had been issued involving the alert or any additional arrests involving the robbery.
The Facebook post that went out shortly after 2 p.m. read as follows:
“The St George Police Department is actively searching for a suspect involved in a robbery. This individual has fled and was last seen in the area of Sherman Rd in Bloomington Hills.
Male is described as black male, wearing a ski mask, black hoodie, blue jeans. Suspect may be armed so use extreme caution. Please secure your windows and doors to your home. Dial 911 if you see this male. We are not looking for volunteers. DO NOT GO TO THE AREA. STAY AWAY UNTIL THIS INCIDENT HAS BEEN RESOLVED. Thank you!”
Bloomington Hills Elementary and Desert Hills Middle and High School had been placed under a “secure” mode, which has since been lifted.
The “lockout” meant outside doors had been locked and school continued as usual until it was deemed safe to release students, said Washington County School District Communications Director Steve Dunham.
Updated 3:35 p.m. Dec. 18, Confirms the lockout has been lifted at the schools.
