ST. GEORGE — Lance Anderson will be the next head football coach at Utah Tech University.
The Fan Sports Network’s Devin Dixon told St. George News that Anderson, whose roots in the coaching tree go back to Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, will be named coach in a press conference Friday at 10 a.m.
Most recently Anderson was a senior analyst at Boise State. He coached under David Shaw at Stanford and with Harbaugh when they were both at San Diego.
Anderson had other stops on his coaching journey including at Utah State and Idaho State, his alma mater.
Anderson replaces Paul Peterson, who was relieved of his sideline duties two days after the Trailblazers finished a 2-9 season.
Peterson put in five years on the Trailblazer sideline, overseeing Utah Tech’s transition to NCAA Division I status.
During that transition, Peterson posted a 9-29 record. Overall he guided the program to a 17-32 mark during his tenure at Utah Tech.
