What’s on the Menu: Sloth Cookies | Sponsored by CasaBlanca Resort & Casino

ST. GEORGE — “What’s on the Menu” host Sheldon Demke is always in the mood for a sweet treat, so he took his friend Jessica Albrecht to check out the goodies at Sloth Cookies in St. George.

Sloth Cookies owner Mike Wanker had a few fantastic cookies for them to sample when they arrived. First was the Romee, a classic sugar cookie topped with raspberry butter cream cheese frosting.

Next, they tried the namesake Sloth, an oatmeal-based cookie with coconut shavings, chocolate chips, toffee bits and pecans all mixed in.

“That thing is stacked, and it tastes fantastic,” Demke said. “Not too sweet, not too crazy.”

Albrecht was a fan as well. “I love the chocolate, I love the pecans in it,” she added. “It just had the perfect crunch.”

Every week, Sloth Cookies introduces a special cookie to their menu that customers can enjoy for a limited time. This week’s special is the Teddie, a chocolate-based oatmeal cookie with caramel and coconut. Wanker said that the inspiration behind the recipe is German chocolate cake, so it’s quite the scrumptious mouthful.

Inviting customers to “slow down” and enjoy a cookie, Sloth Cookies is a family-owned and operated bakery conveniently located at the corner of Bluff Street and Sunset Boulevard. Cookies are handmade using only fresh, premium ingredients. And just like the sluggish tree dweller that adorns their logo, they take their time in preparing every batch, ensuring that each cookie is baked to perfection.
