St. George Police Department officer Trevor Anderson told St. George News a male driver in his 60s was leaving the Lin’s Marketplace parking lot, attempting to turn left onto Dixie Downs Drive.

At the same time, there were two vehicles southbound on Dixie Downs Drive. Anderson said a vehicle in the right lane was turning into Lin’s parking lot. And a Kia Soul in the left lane trying to go straight on Dixie Downs Drive.

“The Jeep couldn’t see around the vehicle turning right into the business and didn’t see the oncoming vehicle in the outer lane,” Anderson said.

There were three occupants in Kia Soul, a male in his 30s with two passengers: a female and an infant. Anderson reported there were no injuries.

This report is based on statements from court records, police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
